Job summary

Infinity Healthcare Consulting is seeking a Long Term Care Facility Cook in Sullivan, Indiana. The Cook will prepare meals per menus, ensure compliance with dietary requirements, and coordinate with the dietitian and Nursing Services to implement changes.

A high school diploma and sanitation certificate are required, with preferred 1 year of dietary experience. Responsibilities include maintaining menus, portion control, and serving meals in a timely, appetizing manner while adhering to policies

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or equivalent.
• One year dietary experience preferred.
• Must have a sanitation certificate.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
• Ensures that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepares food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Inspects special diet trays to ensure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Coordinates dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Works with the facility’s dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Processes diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
