Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a cook to prepare therapeutic and modified diets for patients in a hospital-style kitchen. You will follow patient menus, ensure proper portioning, and maintain high quality across textures and temperatures.

This role offers daily work in a clinical setting with the chance to grow within a national rehabilitation leader. Responsibilities include following menus, coordinating timing of meals, and ensuring patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with therapeutic diets and menu modifications for patients.
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare foodservice setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety guidelines is required.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, or night shifts as needed.
• Possession of a state or county food handler's permit, if required.

Responsibilities

• Apportion servings according to patient menus and orders.
• Follow prescribed menus, recipes, and oral instructions in food preparation.
• Serve appropriate portion sizes as specified for each patient.
• Plan timing of food preparation to ensure timely meal service.
• Maintain taste, texture, temperature, and presentation to meet quality standards.
