Job summary

The Lodge at Rocky Mount Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve food, including texture modified and therapeutic diets, in alignment with our dietary orders and facility menus.

The Cook will follow applicable standards and policies to ensure high-quality service, assist dietary aides as needed, and support a teamwork-driven kitchen environment while maintaining sanitation and nutrition knowledge.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality food service.
• Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets as ordered.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food including texture modified and therapeutic diets per menu and orders.
• Prepares food in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines and policies.
• Assists with receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation and cleaning procedures.
• Directs other staff in the absence of the Certified Dietary Manager.
• Maintains a neat, clean, and organized kitchen; interacts positively with residents and staff.
