Boonespring is seeking full-time and part-time cooks at our skilled nursing facility in Union, KY. You will prepare meals for residents, follow therapeutic diets, and assist with dining room duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in working with patients and food service.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to cooperate with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments.
• Ability to follow recipes and menus, especially related to therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks the residents’ food.
• Ensures the food is prepared correctly and at the appropriate quantity as ordered.
• Maintains clean working environments ensuring guidelines for food handling are followed.
• Assists with the Food Service Assistant position as needed by serving food, cleaning/setting tables, washing dishes/pots/pans.
• Completes other assigned duties when not cooking/preparing food.
• Follows health regulations by the public health department.
