Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Therapeutic Activity Worker in Coraopolis, PA to provide escort services, direct care, and program support for developmentally disabled individuals. This role works under the supervision of Program Instructors and the Program Director.

Responsibilities include implementing individual goal plans, organizing events and trips, assisting with activities of daily living, guiding social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities, and escorting residents to classes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and related work experience.
• Training or experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements individual goal plans, alternate and/or back-up activities, and documents residents' attendance and progress in the program areas.
• Assists in organizing and conducting special events and off-campus trips.
• Assists residents' activities of daily living; such as toileting, feeding and other personal hygiene needs.
• Provides guidance in social, recreational, education and therapeutic activities.
• Escorts residents to and from scheduled program classes.
