Job summary

Summit Oaks Hospital seeks a Therapeutic Activities Therapist to plan and implement activity services within a multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide ongoing patient care, observation, and role modeling for pediatric to geriatric patients across units including detox, rehab, and youth programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and Art Therapy licensure/certification with 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
• Certification/licensure in Art Therapy (Required)
• Licenses: CTRS, ATR, MT-BC, OT, LAC/LPC (Required)
• Related Work Experience: 1-3 years (Required)
• Knowledge of program disciplines (art/occupational/recreation/music/expressive therapies)
• CPR knowledge/training preferred
• Ability to work with diverse age groups (children to geriatrics)
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
• English fluency for communication and documentation

Responsibilities

• Observe and document changes in patient condition and treatment plan progress
• Provide psychosocial/leisure and recreational skills development
• Plan and implement therapeutic activity groups for assigned caseload
• Maintain accurate weekly progress notes and session summaries
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques as required
• Teach coping skills and stress management to patients
• Act as patient advocate and uphold patient rights
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team for discharge and follow-up care
