Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an Activities Therapist to provide therapeutic services using recreation, cooperative activities, and adapted physical education/leisure to support emotional and mental wellbeing. The role involves assessment, treatment planning, and documentation as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field with certification/licensure in the respective scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in heath related field from an accredited school.
• Certified or licensure in respective scope of practice (RYT, CPT) or within three months of employment preferred
• Completed an internship in a behavioral health setting, or previous work experience in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical interventions in various treatment modalities within their scope of practice.
• Demonstrates flexibility in working collaboratively with peers and other disciplines within all service areas
• Participates in service-based Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Participates in patient assessments and treatment planning as a part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Performs related duties, as required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in health related field
