Job summary

Athena Health Care Systems is hiring an Activities Assistant for Sheriden Woods Health Care Center in Bristol, CT. Weekly pay and a supportive recreation team help you contribute to residents’ well-being.

As part of the Therapeutic Recreation Department, you will assist in planning and directing activities that promote physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for each resident, with training provided if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; training provided.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and provisions of patient care by visiting residents regularly to evaluate needs.
• Document and report to the nursing department any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately in accordance with our policy.
• Encourage residents to take part in activities of daily living that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
• Spend duty time with residents rather than with other facility staff.
• Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
