The University of Arizona, in Tucson, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in theoretical condensed matter/quantum physics starting Fall 2027. The successful candidate will pursue innovative research, build a leading program, and contribute to teaching within the Physics Department.

The existing group includes four theorists and four experimentalists, with interests spanning quantum materials, many-body physics, and quantum information science.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics or a related field.
• Postdoctoral experience in theoretical condensed matter/quantum physics or equivalent.
• Record of leadership in the field.
• Teaching/mentoring experience.
• Demonstrated record of innovation in condensed matter/quantum physics.
• Experience collaborating with experimental research groups.

Responsibilities

• Establish a leading research program in theoretical condensed matter/quantum physics.
• Develop and supervise teaching activities in the Physics Department.
• Collaborate with experimental groups and mentor students.
