Job summary

Universal Orlando Resort is seeking an Engineering Specialist to perform design and development for show and ride control systems, enhancing operational reliability and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and have at least 3 years of experience in control systems within a theme park or similar environment.

The position includes responsibilities like troubleshooting electromechanical systems and managing projects, with a focus on communication and collaboration across diverse teams. Experience with PLCs and knowledge of electrical standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in control systems and installation.
  • Or 5+ years of engineering experience in an equivalent environment.
  • Certification in Functional Safety preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides detailed design solutions for Ride & Show systems.
  • Troubleshoots electromechanical systems during operations.
  • Manages assigned projects from design to installation.
  • Generates engineering documentation for design validation.
  • Utilizes project management skills for regular updates.
  • Performs engineering calculations for electrical systems.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.

Skills

Hands-on experience with PLC and automated control systems
Troubleshooting and problem-solving of electrical, mechanical, and/or control systems
Experience communicating effectively
Knowledge of high-level programming language
Experience with motor control systems

Education

Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or related field
