STANDARD HOURS/WEEK

40 (approximate), typically Monday-Friday during standard business hours; however, the schedule is largely dictated by client needs and may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays, with as much advance notice as possible.

CLASSIFICATION

TRAVEL

Work will be primarily out of the branch, and at client locations. Out of town travel due to client needs may be required, depending on job specifics.

Job Summary / Essential Functions

Theatrical Customer Service Associates are responsible for greeting customers, answering their questions, providing product information, and helping them find the right products. Readily assisting customers with product inquiries and recommendations, processing customer returns, handling complaints in a timely and professional manner, sales transactions, including operating the point-of-sale system and handling payments.

Daily essential functions include maintenance of the store and warehouse, such as restocking shelves, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing displays. They also help with inventory, assist with receiving new shipments, conduct stock counts, and report low stock or discrepancies, manage and put away returns. As the brand’s primary customer contact, the Customer Service Associate may resolve customer issues, and contribute to meeting the customer's goal by incorporating the more specialized individual services of our subject matter experts.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
  • Computer literate and comfortable using a computer for various tasks. Preferably proficient in Google Workspace (formerly known as G Suite).
  • Basic understanding of stagecraft, lighting, sound, rigging, and set construction.
  • Knowledge of wigs, stage makeup, and makeup.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, and other industry-specific software.
  • A friendly demeanor, enthusiasm for customer service, and the ability to build customer loyalty.
  • The ability to clearly communicate product information and assist customers with concerns and complaints.
  • Competence in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, basic math skills, and computer literacy.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to be clear and concise via phone, email, and in person effectively interact with staff, customers, and other departments.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation required.
Physical Abilities
  • Able to work steadily at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your hands, arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials for a prolonged period of time.
  • A steady energy level, and a calm demeanor
  • Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Able to frequently climb and descend stairs and ladders and to work safely at heights.
  • Able to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a variety of work environments including, but not limited to: a retail environment using standard office equipment such as computers and phones, with frequent interruptions and unpredictable distractions; a warehouse environment subject to extreme temperatures and noise, sometimes loud and/or sudden while receiving shipments; a tech lab with frequent light changes, including strobes, and potentially airborne particles from fog machines; and the outdoors while helping customers to load/unload rentals and purchases, as well as when pulling event items from exterior storage areas.
