The Theatre and Dance Department in KSC is looking for 3 people to fill our Advance Technician adjunct staff positions.

Positions
  • M3 "The Color of Our Lives" Lighting Technician
  • M4 "Dance Concert" Video Technician
  • M4 "Dance Concert" Lighting Technician

Core functions may vary widely, and may include (but not limited to) being on duty for TAD performances, covering design/tech staff if ill or on vacation, working in the scene shop, labs or work calls on any needed technical items, scenic fabrication, painting, props, etc.; working with TAD design/Technical theatre students and TAD Work Study students; supervising students if required; and ensuring excellent work on our productions. Maintenance and work area clean up are standard expectations. Workers must be able to lift 25 pounds comfortably.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Be on duty for TAD performances and available to assist with any/all production troubleshooting.
  • Cover design/tech staff if ill or on vacation.
  • Work in the scene shop, labs or on any needed technical items, scenic fabrication, painting, props, etc.
  • Collaborate with TAD design/Technical theatre students and TAD Work Study students; supervise students as required.
  • All work is planned and scheduled by the Theatre and Dance Technical Director (Craig Lindsay).
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
  • BA in Theatre or Performing Arts required.
  • At least one year of professional work in the Arts industry, post‑undergrad required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Wide knowledge of technical theatre practices in scenic, lighting, and sound production, and leadership experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced general technical theatre knowledge required.

Compensation

$25.00 per hour.
