Job summary

Waverly Community Schools in Waverly High School seeks a Lighting & Sound Designer for fall and spring 2026. You will design, program, and operate lighting and sound for theatre productions, training students in safe equipment use.

The role collaborates with the production team from planning through strike, with regular crew days and rehearsals for 8–12 weeks. You will design cues to support the director’s vision and ensure high-quality execution.

Qualifications

• Experience working with high school students, preferably in an instructive capacity.
• Experience with live sound.
• Experience with theatrical lighting.
• Experience with programming on ETC software is preferred but not required.
• Experience with QLab software is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise students in the safe use of lighting and sound equipment.
• Design, program, and implement lighting cues to support the director’s vision.
• Hang and focus lighting fixtures.
• Attend production meetings and check-ins.
• Collaborate with production team to schedule crew workdays and rehearsals.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues.
