Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification required: Theatre and Drama, Grades Pre-K through 12 (485) and Music, PK-12 (049).
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Three years of urban teaching experience preferred.
• Experience in the use of educational technology.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Create an atmosphere that fosters artistic and intellectual growth for K-8 students.
• Integrate theatre, dance, music and visual arts across the curriculum.
• Set instructional goals aligned with district and school objectives.
• Design lessons that promote problem solving, creativity, and communication.
• Establish and maintain positive student behavior; support a safe learning environment.
• Pursue ongoing professional development in content and cross-curricular pedagogy.
• Coordinate related theatre productions and performances.
• Plan activities addressing diverse student needs and abilities.
• Develop and assess formative and summative measures reflecting creativity and knowledge.
