Job summary

HOKALI, Inc. is seeking a Theatre & Acting Educator to lead after-school theatre programs for elementary and middle school students in California. You will teach theatre fundamentals, nurture creativity, and create a fun, inclusive learning environment.

The role runs from October 21 to December 16, with sessions on Wednesdays from 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM, paying $50 per hour. You’ll plan engaging activities, ensure student safety, and foster confidence, teamwork, and expressive communication.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Able to complete 3 hours of online training before start date (Concussion Training, Mandated Reporter, First Aid & CPR).
• Authorization to work in the US.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach theatre and acting fundamentals to students from TK through 8th grade.
• Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
• Plan and lead engaging acting exercises, improvisation games, storytelling activities, and creative performances.
• Foster confidence, creativity, communication, and teamwork through theatre-based activities.
• Adapt lessons to different ages, experience levels, and learning styles.
• Effectively manage student behavior using positive reinforcement.
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records.

In this role, you will:

• Teach theatre and acting fundamentals to students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade.
• Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
• Plan and lead engaging acting exercises, improvisation games, storytelling activities, and creative performances.
• Foster confidence, creativity, communication, and teamwork through theatre-based activities.
• Adapt lessons to different ages, experience levels, and learning styles.
• Effectively manage student behavior using positive reinforcement.
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records.
• Prepare and organize activity materials, keeping the learning space clean, safe, and engaging.

Requirements

• 18+ years of age
• Ability and willingness to complete 3 hours of online training prior to the start date. (Concussion Training, Mandated Reporter, First Aid & CPR)
• Authorization to work in the US
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
