Job summary

St. John Vianney High School seeks a full-time Theater Instructor to begin immediately for the 2026-27 school year. The role includes teaching theater, film, and stage management, with potential pairing as Theater Director.

Qualifications

Experience teaching theater and/or directing plays.
Master's degree in content area or education.
Secondary Missouri Certification.
Strong content knowledge in the theatre curriculum.
Ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.
Familiar with best-practice instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with students in the Catholic, Marianist tradition.
Maintain high expectations for students’ academic success.
Create a safe learning environment, especially when building and operating theater sets.
Design and implement rigorous and relevant, inquiry-based lessons.
Prepare course objectives following curriculum guidelines and requirements of the school.
Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction.
Manage the classroom environment to maximize instructional time.
Be an active participant in faculty meetings, conferences, and workshops.
