The National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), headquartered near the CDC, is seeking support for an engagement with Federal Sector Clients. NCEH's Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice (DEHSP) aims to prevent exposures to environmental health hazards and improve community health through applied science and practice. The mission of the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (Tracking Program) is to provide information from a nationwide network of integrated health and environmental data to inform actions that improve community health.
This Public Health Analyst II position aligns with the Senior Consultant labor category. Ideal candidates will be able to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges, engaging confidently in productive dialogue for mission success. The team will acquire skilled talent in informatics, data science, bio-statistics, epidemiology, health education, communication, program development, strategic planning, evaluation, facilitation, partnerships, and project management.
The program identifies environmental health issues, determines surveillance questions, evaluates data utility, and uses data to describe disease trends, identify affected populations, generate hypotheses, and develop policies and interventions. Data are translated into information for targeted audiences via query panels, dashboards, info-graphics, and APIs.
The Public Health Analyst II will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, staffing, and reporting on contract activities, ensuring compliance with task orders in terms of budget, schedule, and quality. They may oversee multiple task orders and provide technical assistance to support the Tracking Program's mission, including collaborating with partners to develop standards, models, and methodologies for data collection and analysis.
The role also involves facilitating and coordinating technical teams, organizing meetings and seminars, and maintaining knowledge management systems. Most work will be completed via telework, with attendance at major meetings as needed.
The candidate must ensure work products are thorough, accurate, documented, and meet established criteria. They should perform duties professionally, adhering to milestones and schedules.
