The NCEH, headquartered near the CDC, aims to support an engagement for Federal sector clients. It focuses on preventing exposure to environmental health hazards through applied science and practice. The mission of the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program is to provide nationwide data that drives actions to improve community health, utilizing a multi-tiered, web-based system at national, state, and local levels.

This Project Manager position aligns with the Senior Consultant labor category. Ideal candidates will have the ability to analyze and visualize data to meet performance challenges, engage productively in dialogue, and support the Tracking Program with expertise in informatics, data science, bio-statistics, epidemiology, health education, and communication. The role involves program development, strategic planning, evaluation, facilitation, partnerships, and project management to identify environmental health issues, develop hypotheses, and inform policies using integrated data and innovative dissemination tools.

The Project Manager will oversee contract activities, including planning, organizing, directing, staffing, and reporting. They will ensure deliverables meet the specifications of various Task Orders, manage multiple Task Orders simultaneously, and provide technical assistance to fulfill the program’s mission. Responsibilities include facilitating technical teams, organizing meetings, developing agendas, and maintaining documentation and knowledge management systems. Most work will be performed remotely, with attendance at major meetings as required.

The candidate must possess at least ten years of relevant experience in business management, informatics, data science, bio-statistics, epidemiology, health education, and communication. They should be skilled in program development, strategic planning, evaluation, facilitation, partnerships, and project management, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 2016 or later. Key soft skills include active listening, verbal and written communication, adaptability, stakeholder engagement, and professionalism. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearances are required. Additional conditions include completing a financial disclosure, background checks, and possibly obtaining a Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance.

Core competencies include teamwork, leadership, business acumen, communication, motivation, agility, judgment, and organization. Other requirements involve proficiency with business tools like Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio, along with a willingness to learn new tools. The candidate should demonstrate curiosity, humility, and a commitment to continuous learning and meaningful work.
