Job summary

The Cigna Group in Austin, TX is launching an AI track development program for students pursuing CS/DS/AI degrees. You will work on meaningful technical solutions, collaborate with mentors, and participate in hands-on projects.

The program blends core and track-specific curriculum, leadership exposure, and cross-functional teamwork. It offers hybrid scheduling, with onsite three days weekly, and a focus on responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field with emphasis on ML methodologies and applications.
  • Foundational understanding of ML concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, with application through coursework or projects.
  • Working knowledge of Python and exposure to ML libraries/frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar.
  • Experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization using Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib for model training.
  • Exposure to model evaluation, prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, LLMs, or responsible AI practices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark or Hadoop is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate data into actionable ML insights.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive learner with interest in staying current on ML/AI tech.
  • GPA of 3.3 or higher is preferred.

Additional Information

Locations: The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days per week working onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day of the employee's choice), and the option to work the remaining days remotely. Employees must be able to meet the onsite schedule.

Program Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week beginning May 24th, 2027. Working days are Monday - Friday.

Compensation: The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is $25.00 to $33.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and location.

Work Authorization / Visa Sponsorship: One goal of this leadership development program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for leadership roles with The Cigna Group upon program completion. Therefore, this position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who do not now, or in the future, require visa sponsorship including, but not limited to, H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM.

Pre-Employment Requirements: Selected candidates will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days prior to the program's start date. Completion of the drug test requires availability within the United States during this timeframe.
