About the role

The benefits specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, short and long-term disability, and various voluntary benefit programs. Provides customer support on complex employee issues to ensure excellent customer service.

What you'll be doing
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS and with third-party benefits administrators and insurance carriers.
  • Maintains a minimal outstanding case load and responds promptly.
  • Seeks ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality, productivity, and customer service.
  • Assists with new-hire orientation.
  • Performs quality checks of benefit-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Supports the open enrollment process and assists with benefit projects, program implementation, and design changes.
About you
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience or training.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
  • Prior benefits and customer service experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, project management, customer service, presentation, time management, and PC skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and assist employees without guidance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
