Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
Working within assigned areas, performs ongoing Planned Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment used throughout the healthcare facility. Assists in planning and installing diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrates the mission, vision, and core values of Trinity Health and the Ministry Organization in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Meets standards for timeliness and quality of PM schedules and repairs of clinical equipment.
- Responsible for PM and repair of clinical equipment as assigned by the CE Manager, resolving complex problems with supervision.
- Orders parts and supplies needed for emergency service and repairs, and makes recommendations on imaging test equipment and spare parts.
- Coordinates repairs with vendors and users, including follow-up and verification of issue resolution.
- Attends training on equipment maintenance and conducts in-service or training for staff on equipment use and safety.
- Provides on-call service coverage after hours on a rotating basis.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction levels.
- Participates in teamwork, keeping others informed, and seeking feedback on effectiveness.
- Performs additional duties as assigned, including work normally done by Biomedical Equipment Technicians or as Lead Technician.
- Adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and policies, reflecting honest and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in a related field or equivalent military training and experience. CRES certification preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of experience in maintenance of diagnostic imaging equipment, including operation of testing equipment.
- Basic understanding of radiation physics, medical terminology, instrumentation, anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, FDA, and other relevant standards and regulations.
- Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment specific to medical imaging.
- Ability to analyze information, follow complex instructions, and document actions.
- Basic computer skills and network knowledge preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds routinely and occasionally up to 100 pounds, and push/pull over 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work in hazardous environments following OSHA guidelines.
- Requires good sensory abilities, including hearing, vision, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to travel to various locations as needed.
