Job description

ALS is seeking a THAAD System Technical Trainer in El Paso, TX

The successful candidate will serve as a System Technical Trainer for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Missile Defense System based at Ft Bliss, Texas. Responsibilities include instructing personnel on New Equipment Training (NET), Technical Concepts and Operations, Air Battle Management Training, and THAAD Missile Technical Escort Training, following established guidelines, manuals, and procedures.

The trainer will conduct training sessions, product demonstrations, and develop evaluation criteria for training effectiveness. As part of an instructor/support team, duties will be performed under direct supervision and include training personnel from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to support Missile Defense Operations. Flexibility for overtime and nonstandard shifts is required.

Responsibilities

1. Provide THAAD training for KSA personnel at Ft Bliss, Texas.
2. Utilize KSA tactical equipment and government-furnished training devices.
3. Follow KSA-specific Training Program Structure and Training Plans.
4. Instruct prerequisite courses before collective training.
5. Teach system and component overviews, functional operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and procedures for all equipment related to THAAD communications.
6. Cover doctrine, system behavior, engagement operations, and missile technical escort training.
7. Train on Battery Support Center operations.
8. Ensure cross-training among instructors for each training area.
9. Teach maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, including software, hardware, cabling, electrical systems, and networks to KSA operators and maintainers.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant work experience.
2. Experience with THAAD or PATRIOT Missile Defense Systems.
3. Knowledge of US Army Air and Missile Defense operations.
4. U.S. citizenship and SECRET clearance.
5. Ability to pass background checks.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with THAAD TFCC, Air Battle Management, LCS/Communications, Launcher systems, and related certifications.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Knowledge of missile configuration and escort procedures.
• System administration and technical roles within THAAD.
• Security+ certification.
