Summary Of Functions

The TGA Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots and monitor the digital Surveillance camera system within guidelines of the property. Assess future and current locations for camera installs, upgrades, and coverage areas. Perform all types of repairs to correct mechanical, electrical, and electronic system failures. Must have expertise in specialized areas such as, but not limited to, repair and maintenance of digital surveillance equipment, audio/visual equipment, and low voltage wiring.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service to customers, other departments and outside agencies. Acts in accordance with Kalispel Tribal Gaming Agency operating standards and exhibits the guiding values of the Department.
  • Ensures that all equipment is in proper working order through regular equipment inspection, plan and execute preventative maintenance programs, and technical issue reports by fellow department team members.
  • Fosters positive communication between the Tribal Gaming Agency Technician team and all other Casino departments.
  • Responsible for digital camera and network equipment installation, relocation, and upgrades.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory, maintenance, malfunctions, repairs, distribution of equipment, and obsolete inventory dispositions.
  • Advises TGA Management and Operations departments in the development and implementation of key strategies, best practice techniques, and tactics to ensure systems optimization.
  • Researches surveillance technology and recommend enhancements to ensure efficient and cost-effective surveillance operations.
  • Responsible for diagnoses, repair, and preventative maintenance of malfunctions on all Kalispel Tribal properties and businesses.
  • Repair cameras, monitors, wiring infrastructure, surveillance network servers, and motor drive units at the component levels.
  • Operates equipment such as man lifts, Ariel boom lift/truck, utility vehicles and company vehicles. Uses tools including but not limited; ladders, power tools and various hand tools.
  • Install new Surveillance related network wiring.
  • Advise in the design and layout new project wire runs and duct works.
  • Install conduit/race ways and firewall protection.
  • Calculate as well as adjust light levels along with refraction angles for the best coverage in potential asset protection, public safety, and gaming operation locations.
  • Ensure control/protection of company assets.
  • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- State of Washington Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC Regulations, Operations Policies and Procedures, and any other applicable regulations or laws.
  • Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for Business Levels.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
  • May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.
  • Provides testimony as a subject matter expert in Gaming Commission Hearings, Tribal Court or Court of Law.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) in electronics or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Experience

  • Two year experience with computer and network component maintenance and upgrade installation.
  • Two years experience with low voltage systems, digital video recorders, network additional storage, programming and troubleshooting of IP network, battery backups, electrical wiring and coax and above average computer skills

Skills

  • Proficient in the use Microsoft programs and other computer software.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of electronic applications.
  • Knowledge of video and audio electronics.
  • Must have knowledge or practice in pulling low voltage cable and installation procedures.
  • Must have working knowledge of video matrix switching systems.
  • Must have knowledge of CCTV equipment installation and set up.
  • Must be able to use digital and analog testing equipment.
  • Have the ability to design and build electronic equipment to enhance or upgrade existing systems.
  • Must have working knowledge of digital recording operation and repair.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads, employees, and fellow team members.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly skilled in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.

Other Requirements

  • Obtain a Level 4 Kalispel Tribe of Indians Work Permit.
  • Valid driver’s license (Must be in possession while operating a Tribal Vehicle).
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Be available to be on call to respond to technical issues that require immediate action.
  • Obtain a forklift operator’s certification.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Constantly requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.
  • Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time.
  • Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
  • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The worker will also work in conditions from a highly elevated vantage. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Light levels are low.
