Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Scheduler Assistant to help develop fully integrated, resource-loaded TFS work schedules and support outage coordination for transmission field personnel. You will collect data, perform data entry, and assist in maintaining schedules that optimize maintenance and capital work plans.

Expect to contribute in meetings with project, outage, construction, maintenance, operations, and commissioning teams, while adhering to safety policies and company guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field or Associate's degree in Engineering/Construction Management or related technical field or high school diploma with 4 years utility field experience.
• 2+ years of maintenance/work scheduling or construction project scheduling experience preferred.
• Basic working knowledge with MS Office Tools and MS SharePoint; ability to read/interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist development of integrated resource-loaded and levelized TFS work schedules to optimize maintenance, capital outage, and other TFS activities.
• Participate in outages and coordinating meetings across project, outage, construction, and maintenance groups.
• Assist in organizing outage coordination meetings and in updating scheduling changes when outages are canceled or rescheduled.
• Support development, review, and presentation of statistical reports on scheduling, crew utilization, etc.
• Maintain safety practices and professional culture in planning and scheduling activities.

Job Summary

Assist higher level employees in their role as TFS scheduler. Assist in the scheduling of pre-determined work activities of Transmission field personnel. Assist in collecting data, data entry, and maintaining front end loaded schedules as well as completed ready to execute resource loaded schedules that optimize the maintenance work plans, capital work plans and other TFS work activities. Assist with TFS outage requests, including entering outages into iTOA/OSI, and verifying that all required outages have been entered. Become familiar with scheduling software and upgrades to the software. Must be a self-motivated individual and able to work under minimal supervision, be a good communicator and work well with others.

Work Description WHAT YOU'LL DO: Under the direction of others, assist with the development of fully integrated resource loaded and levelized TFS work schedules that optimize maintenance work plans, capital outage work, and other TFS work activities using Transmission approved scheduling software and tools. Comply with the Outage Coordination Procedure and all RTO guidelines. Participate in meetings with project, outage, construction, maintenance, operations and commissioning groups. Assist with TFS outage requests, including entering outages into TOA or its successor data base. Assist in organizing, coordinating and attending the supporting areas outage coordination meetings. Assist higher level employees in coordinating changes to the work schedule when an outage needs to be canceled or rescheduled. Assist higher level employees in the development, review, and presentation of statistical reports related to work scheduling and adherence, crew utilization, etc. Assist with the coordination and participate in meetings with other sections/departments covering scheduling, staffing and outages. Develop professionalism, Safety practices and positive Culture, good teamwork skills, effective communication skills, and become familiar with planning and scheduling techniques. Perform all duties and work with others in a safe manner in compliance with appropriate Company safety policies and rules. Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Education requirements are listed below :Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field such as Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management.Or Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field Or high school diploma, Vocational training and 4 years' utility field experience. Work Experience requirement listed below: Candidates with a Bachelor Degree in a Business field, such as Accounting, Finance or Management will be accepted if they have at least 2 years of maintenance work scheduling or construction project scheduling experience or other relevant utility experience. Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C, Transmission engineering, Transmission or Distribution dispatch experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience is strongly preferred. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Basic working knowledge with MS Office Tools and MS SharePoint.Ability to read/ interpret electrical schematics Some travel required, must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. Become familiar with planning and scheduling techniques.

Compensation Data

Compensation Grade: SP20-005 Compensation Range: $63,496.00 - $109,543.00
