Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, Inc. is seeking a Textile Processing Associate/Clothing Sorter to sort and grade donated textiles, operate sorting equipment, and record production data at our Asheville facility.

The role emphasizes quality control, safety, and adherence to daily production goals. The position is full-time and on-site in Asheville, NC, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities to cross-train in related material recovery tasks as needed.

Formación

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator.
• Ability to stay focused during repetitive tasks.
• Standing and handling materials constantly; lifting up to 10 pounds.

Responsabilidades

• Sort and grade donated textiles by quality, condition, and category.
• Meet daily production goals as directed by leadership.
• Learn and perform table sorting, conveyor sorting, machine sorting.
• Record production information including weights and cart categories.
• Identify contaminants and route non-qualifying items to correct areas.
• Load Gaylord boxes and boats into the machine system using the tilting device.
• Monitor the main system screen and exchange carts on the Fibersort line.
• Utilize speech sorting system and complete required speech model training.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation and follow safety rules.
• May be cross-trained in other material recovery duties (e.g., forklift support).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
