Job Objective
To receive, sort, price, tag, and stock donations, ensuring a smooth flow of donations from drive‑thru to the sales floor in a fast‑paced retail environment. The role reports to the Store Manager and/or Production Manager and is aligned with Goodwill’s mission: “Empower people to achieve their most abundant life.”
Essential Job Functions
- Sort, price, and tag donated textiles at a minimum rate of 80 pieces per hour (PPH) while maintaining quality standards.
- Retrieve the Textile Production Sheet at the start of each shift and submit it upon completion.
- Transport carts containing items to be processed.
- Process donations promptly.
- Dispose of trash in designated True Trash receptacles as needed.
- Organize racks for efficient stocking.
Pay Levels
- Training Level – Below 80 PPH: $11 per hour.
- Level2 – 80‑90 PPH: $15 per hour (achieved upon reaching 80 PPH for the first time).
- Level3 (High Performers) – 91‑110 PPH: $16 per hour (requires a 3‑week average of at least 91 before pay change).
- Level4 (High Performers) – 111‑130+ PPH: $17 per hour (requires a 3‑week average of at least 111 before pay change).
- Employees who reach Level3 or 4 must maintain the PPH; a 3‑week improvement period is applied if the target drops below the level. Failure may result in performance discussions and pay adjustments.
Additional Expectations
- Daily recording of PPH for tracking; failure to record may impact pay.
- Each rack holds 100 pieces.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Adherence to standard retail practices and dress code.
- Familiarity with current clothing, shoe styles, furniture, toys, and brand names.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to make quick, accurate decisions.
- Tactful communication with the public and co‑workers.
- Flexible to work varying schedules.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Physical capability: frequently bend, twist, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, use feet, lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Use of light industrial equipment such as tagging gun, stickers, tags, pallet stacker, pallet jack, and compactor (must be 18+).
