Job summary

L & R is seeking a Textile Machine Operator to join the Knit and Sew team in Milwaukee. You will set up, operate, repair and maintain knitting machines to support production of garments.

Responsibilities include monitoring machines for productivity and quality, performing adjustments and troubleshooting, measuring garments, and assisting with basic fabric fabrication and machine upkeep. Strong mechanical skills and basic computer use are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in textile machine operation.
• Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Intermediate math aptitude.

Position Summary

Set-up, operate, repair & maintain knitting machines.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure machines are operating at optimal productivity and quality standards.
• Responsible for the setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting of computerized flatbed and whole garment knitting machines.
• Steam and measure all garments to ensure quality standards.
• Responsible for limited fabrication of select products.
• Maintain and upkeep knitting machines as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in textile machine operation.
• Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft office)
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Intermediate math aptitude.

Physical Demands

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
