Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a resourceful Department Manager in the Textbook department to guide customers to course materials for rental or purchase and support daily store operations.

You will be the subject matter expert for textbooks, collaborating with campus partners and faculty to increase adoptions, rentals, and promote digital sales while maintaining inventory and delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting as a manager or buyer preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support all store operations and departments in partnership with the management team.
• In the textbook department, ensure the right book, in the right quantity, at the right time.
• Work with campus partners, students, and faculty to increase adoptions, rentals, and digital sales.
• Drive the team to create customer experiences that drive bookstore loyalty and measurable daily results.
