Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Cromeens Law Firm is a dynamic and innovative law firm dedicated to providing high-quality legal services to our clients. We specialize in Construction Law, and our team is committed to delivering excellent results while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

The Associate Attorney works primarily with their supervising attorney and administrative members of the law firm, such as paralegals, legal clerks, and legal assistants. The role involves communicating with clients, developing legal strategies, and assisting with case management. You will be expected to stay informed about client matters, maintain and build relationships, prepare legal documents, and attend hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain 35 billable hours per week.
  • Complete tasks assigned by your supervising attorney promptly, including:
  • Researching legal issues.
  • Drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
  • Attending hearings, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain client communications and relationships, responding typically within 24 hours.
  • Prepare for strategy meetings, understanding case facts, current status, upcoming hearings, deadlines, and case strengths and weaknesses.
  • Be prepared to take cases to trial.
  • Continuously evaluate cases to serve client goals effectively.
  • Stay informed on legal developments through continuing legal education.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor or equivalent from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law and membership in the State Bar of Texas.
  • 4-7 years of legal experience.
  • Remote work experience is a plus.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (remote).
