Job Description

Position Highlights:

  • Directly manage 45+ ER staff within a 73-FTE department (including PRNs)
  • Level III Trauma Center with a strong focus on stroke and cardiac care
  • Oversight of daily operations, staffing, and patient care delivery
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary environment with high visibility and support

Responsibilities:

  • Manage staffing, training, and operational performance of the Emergency Department
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards
  • Support staff performance and professional development
  • Handle complaints and facilitate patient-centered communication
  • Drive improvements in patient safety, clinical quality, and staff engagement
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and coordinate unit workflow
  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration for patient care delivery

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Tennessee or Compact state
  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
  • Minimum 1–3 years of nursing leadership experience required
  • BCLS certification (or instructor) within 30 days of hire
