Job summary

Virtual Vocations Inc. seeks a full-time Texas Licensed Inpatient Coder to create disease and procedure indices by coding and abstracting data from inpatient and outpatient records while working remotely.

You will code using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, provide diagnostic and procedural information for billing, and collaborate with the Business Office. Requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS credentials and experience in acute hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience with ICD-10-CM coding in an acute hospital setting.
• AHIMA credential as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS.
• Successful completion of college courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and an AHIMA approved coding class.
• Experience with computerized abstracting systems and encoding software preferred.
• Basic proficiency with computers and general principles of health information science.

• Provide diagnostic and procedural information to the Business Office for billing purposes
• Utilize ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding standards with a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology

Required qualifications
