The ideal candidate has 5+ years in dairy, strong leadership, and experience with DairyComp. This on-site position offers an annual salary of $80,000-$90,000 and growth potential as the operation expands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive dairy experience.
• Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of herd health, reproduction, breeding, and milk quality.
• Hands-on AI breeding experience with cows and heifers.
• Strong calf and youngstock management experience.
• Experience supervising, training, and developing dairy employees.
• Experience with DairyComp or similar dairy management software.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Organic dairy experience helpful but not required.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day herd management with emphasis on reproduction, herd health, milk quality, calves and youngstock, and employee management.
• Oversee breeding and reproductive performance, vaccinations, and treatment protocols; maintain DairyComp records; work with veterinarian and consultants.
• Develop heifer and calf programs, including breeding and calving schedules, colostrum and newborn care, feeding, sanitation, and calf health.
• Supervise, train, and develop employees as cow numbers and staffing increase.
• Monitor milk quality, somatic cell count, production and other herd performance indicators; manage records and day-to-day decisions.
