Job summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Dairy Manager for a large Wisconsin dairy operation to lead herd performance, oversee up to 15 employees, and manage daily facility operations. The role involves supervision, data entry in DairyComp, scheduling, hiring, and coordinating with the veterinarian and nutritionist to maintain herd health and productivity.

Qualifications

• Prior experience managing people in a dairy or livestock setting.
• Strong herd health background; ability to treat, diagnose, and manage health issues.
• Proficient with DairyComp and basic computer programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
• Spanish language ability preferred.
• Experience with breeding/AI is a strong plus.
• Detail-oriented with a solid work ethic and commitment to animal care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with owners and external vendors.
• Experience training employees, supporting accountability, and ensuring consistent protocol adherence.
• Strong organizational and team-building skills, including scheduling, staffing, and employee development.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily herd management, oversee up to 15 employees, and ensure tasks follow protocols.
• Attend management meetings and coordinate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and vendors.
• Oversee milking, fresh cows, dry cows, and down cows; assist with treatments as needed.
• Enter data into DairyComp and manage inventory, supplies, and parlor procedures.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and staff development; ensure staffing coverage.
