The University of Cincinnati Testing Services departmentprovides secure, professional, and accessible testing environmentsfor students, faculty, and external test-takers, adhering to thestandards of the National College Testing Association.

Job Overview

Student Associates perform a vital role within the department ofTesting Services. They interact regularly with students, faculty,and other university employees. They welcome test takers to thecenter and assist with daily departmental activities whilemaintaining confidentiality of student, department, andinstitutional information.

Primary Duties

The Student Associate position provides part-timeemployment opportunities within University of Cincinnatidepartments. This role offers students the chance to gain valuablework experience while supporting the operations and services of theuniversity.

• Support and effectively monitor test takers as they arrive,check-in, and test at Testing Services.
• Ensure that all the testing materials needed are prepared aheadof each shift.
• Attain and maintain vendor certifications for high-stakesprofessional and licensure tests as required.
• Communicate with faculty, coworkers, and test takers in person,via email, and via phone call in a timely and professionalmanner.
• Maintain test security and integrity.
• Accurately label and file testing materials according to deskguidelines.
• Deliver high quality customer service online, by phone and/orin-person to all those utilizing UC Testing Services
• Serve as a strong student staff member and ambassador forTesting Services.
• Perform a variety of administrative, operational,or program support tasks as assigned by thedepartment.
• Assist with daily office or departmentalactivities, including data entry, filing, customer service, andcommunications.
• Support departmental projects, events, andinitiatives that enhance university programs or communityengagement.
• Operate standard office equipment and softwareapplications in the performance of assignedduties.
• Maintain confidentiality of student, departmental,and institutional information in accordance with universitypolicies.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and acommitment to providing quality service.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need.This job description can be changed at any time.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or asecondary school.
• Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credithours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term,or will be a registered student during the next academicterm.
• Must be at least 16 years ofage.
• “Enrollment” shall include:
  • The period between two successive terms for whichthe student is enrolled.
  • The one “off” term in each academic year in whichthe student is not enrolled. Student employee status may beretained for one additional term following either graduation orwithdrawal from enrollment.

Physical Requirements

As a UC student employee of an Ohio public institution,you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system,other than contributions to Medicare.
