Implements and improves testing, development and validation techniques, processes, tooling and machinery to maximize product quality.

What You Will Do:
• Assisting to resolve issues regarding the design or manufacturing. Ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness.
• Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient and cost-effective.
• Monitoring results, machine and process capabilities and performance reliability.

Degree Requirement
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
• Coordinates execution of test plans, including resources, strategy, schedules, processes and tools.
• Collaborates with design team to ensure testing considerations are incorporated into system design.
• Matches testing methodology and tools to product being tested; develops test scenarios and scripts.


Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
• Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
• Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
• Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
• Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Hands-on experience withon-machine testingin field or proving ground environments
• Background inmachine controls,automation testing & design, andGPS-based machine control systems
• Proficiency inautomated testing toolsand scripting for validation workflows
• Strong understanding ofsystem software testing, including diagnostics, fault injection, and performance validation
• Familiarity withelectromechanical systemsand their integration in test environments

Additional Information:

• This position is based at thePeoria Proving Grounds.
• On-site presence is required five days a week ; remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.
• Relocation assistance is provided for this role.
• Sponsorship for employment authorization is available .
• Travel requirements are minimal , with expected annual travel of less than 10%.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
