Job summary

Stelvio Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a hands-on Power Electronics Test & Validation Engineer to own testing of power conversion hardware. You will build benches, validate performance, troubleshoot failures, and support development and manufacturing in a hybrid work setting.

Power Electronics Test & Validation Engineer | Austin, TX | Hybrid flexibility

Stelvio is supporting a fast-growing advanced engineering business looking to add a Power Electronics Test & Validation Engineer to its Austin team.

This is a highly hands-on laboratory position, working across Engineering, Test & Integration, and Manufacturing. You’ll take ownership of testing and debugging power conversion hardware -building test benches, validating performance, troubleshooting failures, and supporting products through development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and operate power electronics test benches


• Test AC/DC, DC/AC, and DC/DC power conversion systems


• Measure voltage, current, power, efficiency, switching behavior, thermal performance, and EMI


• Troubleshoot hardware and diagnose field failures


• Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions


• Create test plans, procedures, and technical documentation


• Support engineering and manufacturing teams with hardware-related issues


• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field


• Practical or academic experience with power electronics


• Understanding of common power converter topologies


• Confidence reading schematics and component data sheets


• Hands-on use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, and similar equipment


• An understanding of high-voltage electrical safety

Experience with motor drives, PCB design, soldering, LabVIEW, or high-power test environments would be particularly valuable.
