Brief Job Description: The Test Technician Trainer will support the engineering test activities for Vertiv’s single phase UPS line of business. Acts as the local Delaware, OH Single Phase UPS lab resident by organizing equipment, setting up and performing tests, and reporting findings. Will mainly support new product development and occasionally support sustaining test activities.
Responsibilities
- Train Test Employees and document requirement documents.
- Set up and perform tests requested by product engineers.
- Assist with assembly of prototype units.
- Organize and maintain a safe, clean, productive lab space.
- Perform product tear downs and technical analysis down to the PCB level.
- Report findings in an organized manner.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3-5 years test engineering experience with electrical-based products OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 2-3 years test engineering experience with electrical-based products.
- Basic working knowledge in power/electrical engineering; AC and DC power <20kVA circuits, microprocessor and sensor interfacing, firmware interfacing, DC batteries, connectors/wire harnesses.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and identify components.
- Strong engineering troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and methodically.
- Ability to operate in an electrical testing lab environment safely and successfully.
- Very strong planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and operate in cross-functional global development teams.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs (23–34 kg) and team lift to 100–150 lbs (45–68 kg).
