Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Test Lab Technician to support R&D testing, build and maintain lab fixtures, and capture data to inform engineering decisions. This onsite role suits someone mechanically inclined who enjoys solving problems with advanced technologies in a safety-conscious team environment.

The position emphasizes hands-on testing, fixture assembly, data collection, and collaboration with engineers to prep samples for evaluation. A strong mechanical/electrical foundation is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a two-year technical degree preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on lab skills.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, manufacturing processes, and machine/shaft alignment.
• Foundational knowledge of trigonometry and basic mechanical principles including force systems, statics, friction, and vibration.
• Experience troubleshooting test rigs and using measurement instruments (temperature, speed, vibration, torque).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with bearings, gears, clutches, chains, belts, sheaves, couplings, and gearboxes.

Position Overview:

The Test Lab Technician will help turn ideas into real-world products by supporting research, new product development, enabling technologies, and other innovation initiatives. In this hands‑on role, you will conduct product and prototype testing, build and maintain lab fixtures and equipment, capture data that informs engineering decisions, and prepare samples for evaluation. Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe, organized, and compliant lab environment.
• Set up and perform research and development testing on products and prototypes.
• Build, assemble, and modify test fixtures, machines, and support equipment as needed.
• Maintain lab equipment and testing tools to ensure reliable performance and readiness.
• Monitor test activity, capture key measurements and observations, and support the preparation of preliminary test reports for engineering review.
• Disassemble tested products and prepare samples for inspection, analysis, and evaluation.
• Support prototype assembly and preparation to ensure products are ready for testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience troubleshooting test rigs and working with electrical, electronic, and measurement instruments such as temperature, speed, vibration, and torque devices.

• Familiarity with mechanical power transmission components such as bearings, gears, clutches, chain and sprockets, belts and sheaves, couplings, and gearboxes.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Excel
