Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Kentucky Idle Hour is seeking a candidate to perform new product testing in accordance with engineering practices and company procedures. You will learn test procedures, become an expert in test equipment, and work with teams to service and maintain equipment.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings, and basic software skills; you will estimate costs, write reports, and contribute to design engineering for custom test rigs.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 5+ years' experience in related field.
• A strong mechanical aptitude for significant hands-on work.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
• Effective inter-personal skills, ability to work in a team environment, and Project Management experience with the ability to manage his/her own priorities and workload.
• Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and runs testing requested by external and internal customers.
• Works with maintenance, engineering, and calibration suppliers to maintain, diagnose, and repair thermal chambers, ovens, fluid circulators and other test equipment.
• Estimates costs including labor hours, test hours, fixture costs, etc. for testing.
• Writes technical reports including test results, procedure and calculations.
• Works with design engineering to build custom test equipment when needed.
• Identifies opportunities for testing improvements through evaluation of current test practices and methods.
• Communicates and coordinates testing activities with divisional team members and deals directly with customers as needed.
• Creates and maintains well-documented test procedure and results files in accordance with design control procedures.
• Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards and good housekeeping practices.
• Understands and implements the health, safety, and environmental policies and integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into daily work activities.
