Honeybee Robotics, a Blue Origin Company, is seeking a Test Technician II to join our integrated team of test engineers and technicians responsible for the qualification and certification of flight hardware. Within our Motion Control Business Unit, you will play a critical role in testing and certifying sophisticated motion control systems and components that will land on the moon, orbit the earth, and contribute to the next generation of space exploration. Our Colorado facility specializes in the development and rigorous testing of complex motion control hardware-from framed gear motors and Solar Array Drive Assemblies to multi-axis gimbals and reaction wheel assemblies-ensuring these critical systems perform flawlessly in the most extreme environments. We are searching for technically brilliant individuals who take ownership of their work, enjoy collaborating in teams, and have a laser focus on the details that drive excellence in space flight hardware certification in a high‑tempo environment.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and configure test benches and equipment for testing space flight hardware components.
  • Operate general purpose test equipment (GPTE) and automated test equipment (ATE) to perform functional testing of electronic systems.
  • Build, maintain, and improve Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for testing operations.
  • Review and provide feedback on technical documentation, including test procedures and standing operating procedures.
  • Operate environmental chambers and other specialized test equipment with proper training.
  • Maintain calibration and functionality of test equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Troubleshoot testing anomalies independently, present findings, and suggest appropriate paths forward.
  • Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on environmental test equipment such as thermal chambers and thermal vacuum chambers.
  • Demonstrate a strong bias for safety in operations and promote safety culture among team members.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience as an electronics technician (testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair) (Military electronics technician experience highly desired).
  • Experience with general purpose test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for electrical theory and mechanical theory.
  • Experience reading and following technical procedures and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying faults in electronic systems.
  • Experience with proper handling of sensitive electronic components.
  • Strong skills in communication, reporting, and documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with assembly, integration, and test for components in aerospace applications.
  • Advanced skills with instrumentation and test equipment.
  • Experience or proficiency with programming languages such as Python, LabVIEW.
  • Experience or proficiency with digital acquisition systems or automated test systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting techniques across a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Previous experience in low-volume, high-mix production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability as an expert with mechanical and vacuum systems within a test environment.
  • Previous experience working in a hazardous environment.
  • Experience with motion control systems such as motors, actuators, or mechanisms.
  • Experience with cleanroom operations and protocols.
  • Microminiature Repair certification (2M or 4M) or IPC soldering certification or equivalent soldering experience.
  • Experience developing and submitting changes to technical manuals.
  • Experience troubleshooting systems of systems down to component level.
  • Previous experience with environmental testing equipment.

Compensation Range for: CO applicants is $27.42 - $38.39
