About the Role

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. We are searching for a Test Technician to handle the testing of products developed by our company for public release. In this role, you will be required to plan, conduct, and report on testing done to products under development as well as provide advice and feedback to relevant stakeholders.

This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Interact with other functional groups (e.g. engineering, manufacturing) on routine technical matters
• Set up and operate various test stands
• Configure test equipment for special tests as needed
• Interpret and record test results
• Recognize and isolate test equipment failures
• Take electrical measurements to determine the appropriate resistors using strong math skills
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub‑assembly and component level
• Read and interpret technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics
• Effectively communicate work status to team members and support staff (e.g. shift pass‑down, engineering, maintenance)
• Perform technical tasks based on detailed written or verbal instructions
• Utilize a limited variety of microelectronic, electronic, optical, electro‑optical, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment, including computers and lasers
• Perform entry‑level troubleshooting, calibration or modification of hardware, fixtures, and software
• Participate on project teams
• Perform task prioritization
• Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where ingenuity and judgment are required
• Support activities through the resolution of problems and preparation and maintenance of documentation
• Manage workflow throughout the area to achieve team goals
• Evaluate and troubleshoot non‑conformances
• Fabricate hardware, equipment, tools or prototypes from drawings or sketches
• Estimate labor, material, and manufacturing costs for the building and repair of product or process enhancement
• Provide accurate recording of time changes, test data, parts usage, etc. (requires limited data interpretation)
• Utilize multiple databases to create or use necessary information for decision making (requires limited judgment)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., G.E.D. in the U.S.) and an associate degree in a technical area such as Electronic Engineering or Electronics, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of one year of relevant experience
• Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
• U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• Residence in Puerto Rico is required; relocation is not offered
