Job summary

National Gypsum Co. is seeking a hands-on helper to support test engineering in building and testing wall and floor-ceiling assemblies. You will document data in Excel, coordinate with clients, and assist with product testing to applicable standards.

The role requires lifting, climbing, and strong teamwork within a safety-focused environment. Compliance with quality management and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on construction skills including use of hand tools, power tools and related equipment.
• Ability to lift 50–60 pounds.
• Climb ladders or work from heights above 4 ft.
• Excellent teamwork.
• Commitment to safety, quality and client-focused service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Adherence to internal quality management system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction and demolition of test wall and floor-ceiling assemblies.
• Record construction details and test data in MS Excel.
• Coordinate test projects with clients and establish time frames.
• Perform product tests following national and international standards.
• Monitor and record hours and material costs for projects.
• Support operation of the Steiner tunnel and furnaces.
• Perform additional duties including overtime during busy periods.
