Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Menomonee Falls, WI is hiring a Test Technician 3 for 2nd shift. All new hires will start on 1st shift for training and transition to 2nd after 90 days.

The role performs standard testing on various equipment and provides technical support to engineers and manufacturing. Preference will be given to candidates with an active security clearance and US citizenship, able to obtain clearance within a reasonable time.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in technical testing environments with an associate’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Experience with high power and medium voltage equipment.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience handling small delicate components with ESD practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Soldering and wire bonding experience is a plus.
• Experience with MRP is a plus.
• All levels require the ability to obtain a clearance but do not require one to start.

Responsibilities

• Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches including running test set-ups of significant complexity.
• Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and test procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
• Lead training for any team member.
• Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials.
• Lead a team to meet production deadlines and ensure quality of finished product (pass/fail rates).
• Diagnose cause of electrical, optical, mechanical malfunction, or failure of operational equipment.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Modify a variety of complex electrical prototypes in accordance to engineering instructions.
• Support Engineering while utilizing industry best practices including but not limited to creating test fixtures, test set-ups, and evaluations of product and/or fixtures.
• Conduct developmental tests while ensuring safety of yourself and your team.

Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as a Test Technician.We are currently hiring people into level 3 and 4 positions. Your experience will determine level and corresponding pay. Preference will be given to those who have an active security clearance. All applicants must be a US citizen and have the ability to secure a clearance within a reasonable time after starting with the company.

This role will perform standard testing procedures on a variety of equipment. You will provide technical support to engineers and manufacturing on a variety of complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment.

• Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices
• Experienced in the use of various computer applications, specifically the Microsoft suite
• Must have strong mechanical skills
• Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
• Experience with MRP is a plus
• All levels require the ability to get a clearance but do not require one to start
