Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a mid-level test technician to support testing of complex PCB units. You will apply electronics principles to diagnose issues on digital systems using flying probe equipment, environmental tests, meters, analyzers, and related software.

Responsibilities include testing high-density assemblies, setting up test equipment, collecting data, and reporting defects. Candidates should have 1–3 years of PCB testing experience in manufacturing and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years testing PCBs in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with complex digital system testing and debugging on flying probe equipment.
• Ability to prepare complex test reports and data per procedures.
• Understanding of electrical theory (Ohm's law, circuit analysis).

• Perform electrical testing of PCB assemblies via Takaya Flying Probe equipment.
• Set up and deploy test equipment and programs for flying probe testing.
• Ensure test processes and equipment are configured correctly for each test.
• Measure, collect, and record performance data.
• Troubleshoot systems and test setups to locate and repair defects.
• Submit defects reports and communicate with production for resolution.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Mercury Systems is looking for a skilled, mid-level, test technician to help complete a variety of tasks relating to testing complex PCB units. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate problem solving abilities on moderate to complex issues on digital systems using a variety of testing tools, including flying probes, environmental testing, meters and analyzers and various software.

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply electronics principles in the test and troubleshooting of high-density multi-system (multiple CPU/FPGA) assemblies, to component level
• Perform electrical testing of multiple PCB assemblies via Takaya Flying Probe equipment
• Selection, set up, and deployment of test equipment and programming necessary for flying probe testing
• Ensure that test processes and equipment are configured correctly for each test.
• Measure, collect, and record all performance data
• Troubleshooting of systems, devices, processes and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas
• Submission of defects reporting, non-conforming materials reports, and communication with production team in resolution of defects/product failures
• Any other task assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications:

• Typically requires 1-3 years of experience in testing Printed Circuit Boards in a manufacturing environment
• Experience performing complex testing and moderate problem solving on digital systems and subassemblies on Flying Probe equipment.
• Ability to prepare complex test reports and data in accordance withfunctional and acceptance leveltest procedures
• Understanding of electrical theory and principles such as Ohm's law and circuit analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent Teamwork and Communications Skills
• Ability to read and interpret complex schematics
• Microsoft Office, Oracle, FactoryLogix/Aegis, terminal emulator applications, Siemens Valor suite and Test Expert/Takaya working knowledge preferred
• Has an understanding ofmanufacturing qualitystandards and can read schematics or other technical data as needed
• Has prepared complex test reports
• Perform complex testing;Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests
• Experience troubleshooting and determining root cause for issues
• Use of test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, serial emulators, networking devices, and other tools found in a testing laboratory
