Job summary

Top Prospect Group is seeking a Test Technician in Wallingford, CT. You will set up and run tests on PCBs and assemblies, interpret procedures, and troubleshoot failures to the component level.

The role offers contract-to-hire with pay of $22/hr on contract and $24/hr upon permanent conversion, plus a $3/hr differential for 2nd shift. Onsite work with standard 1st and 2nd shift hours.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of PCB testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent in Electronics or related field is required.
• Proficient with test sets, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate test equipment to perform functional, in-circuit, and environmental tests on PCBs and electronics.
• Interpret test procedures and schematics to ensure accurate testing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot at the component level using test results and diagnostic tools.
• Document test records, failure reports, and corrective actions.
• Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve issues and optimize tests.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and safety protocols.

• Job Title: Test Technician
• Duration: Contract to Hire
• Location: Wallingford, CT
• Pay: $22/hr while on contract
• Conversion Pay: $24/hr upon permanent conversion, anticipated after approximately 3 months
• 2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3/hr
• Openings: 2 openings on 1st shift and 2 openings on 2nd shift
• Benefits: Optional cafeteria-style benefits for contractors; Radiall pays approximately 95% of benefits once permanent.
• 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) Monday to Friday
• 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking a Test Technician in Wallingford, CT. As a Test Technician, your day-to-day duties will consist of and may not be limited to:

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate test equipment to perform functional, in-circuit, and environmental tests on PCBs and electronic assemblies.
• Interpret and follow test procedures, schematics, and technical documentation to ensure accurate and efficient testing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot failures to the component level using test results, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Document and maintain detailed test records, failure reports, and corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and improving test processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve technical issues and optimize testing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, ISO requirements, and safety protocols.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in PCB testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in using test sets, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other related tools.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, schematics, and PCB layouts.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with RF and/or fiber optic testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 standards.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Basic measurement skills using both standard and metric systems.
• Ability to reason, analyze, and problem-solve effectively.
