• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Minimum 3 years of electronics testing, aerospace testing, manufacturing test, or related environments.
• Experience with electronic assemblies and instrumentation in an ESD-controlled environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and specs.
• Experience with troubleshooting and test equipment operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform setup, execution, monitoring, and teardown of dynamic and environmental tests per procedures and specs.
• Configure and operate vibration, shock, acceleration, and special test equipment.
• Assemble, instrument, and prepare test articles, fixtures, and supporting hardware.
• Install and troubleshoot instrumentation including accelerometers, thermocouples, data acquisition systems, and associated cabling.
• Perform electrical and functional testing using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and fixtures.
• Generate accurate test data packages, reports, and test records.
• Support preventive maintenance, calibration, and lab readiness.
• Assist engineers with test method development and root cause investigations.
• Maintain compliance with ESD, quality, and safety requirements.
• Support lab organization and continuous improvement (5S).
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to meet program objectives.
• May require overtime based on production needs.

Job Description

Job Requisition: (Dynamic) Test Technician

Location: Simsbury, CT

Reports To: Test Production Supervisor

Schedule: This is a first shift (9-80 schedule position)

EBAD Electronics Test Lab is in need of a Test Technician to support Dynamics, electrical, and functional testing activities on electrical components in support of the aerospace and defense industry. The successful candidate will have strong electronic instrumentation and troubleshooting experience, familiar with an ESD-controlled environment, and possess the mechanical aptitude required to support vibration, shock, and electrical test activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform setup, execution, monitoring, and teardown of dynamic and environmental tests in accordance with written procedures, military standards, customer requirements, and engineering specifications.
• Configure and operate vibration, shock, acceleration, and special test equipment.
• Assemble, instrument, and prepare test articles, fixtures, and supporting hardware.
• Install and troubleshoot instrumentation including accelerometers, thermocouples, data acquisition systems, and associated cabling.
• Perform electrical and functional testing using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and custom test equipment and fixturing.
• Generate accurate test data packages, reports, and test records to support customer and program requirements.
• Support preventive maintenance, calibration activities, and overall laboratory readiness.
• Assist engineers with test method development, troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and process improvements.
• Maintain compliance with ESD, quality, and safety requirements while handling sensitive electronic assemblies and aerospace hardware.
• Support laboratory organization and continuous improvement initiatives utilizing 5S principles.
• Work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to achieve program objectives as directed by the Test Production Supervisor.
• Support occasional overtime as needed based off the needs of the production schedule.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics testing, aerospace testing, manufacturing test, laboratory operations, or related technical environments.
• Experience working with electronic assemblies and instrumentation in an ESD-controlled environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and specifications.
• Experience with electronic troubleshooting and test equipment operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
