Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks personnel to assist with modification, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and experimental apparatus in a secure setting in Poway, CA.

The role includes setting up routine experiments, recording data, and operating equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements. DoD clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to use common hand tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Willingness to work with systems under high pressure, high voltage, cryogens, or radioactive materials.
  • Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and installs simple laboratory equipment, experimental or commercial apparatus.
  • Operates lab and experimental equipment and collects data.
  • Cleans, adjusts and replaces parts on lab and experimental equipment.
  • Sets up and checks out routine experiments and tests according to pre-arranged procedures, records experimental data.
  • Capable of operating test equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Observes all laws and regulations wherever business is conducted.
  • Works in a safe manner following procedures.
  • Helps maintain orderly work area and performs other duties as assigned.

Assists with modification, fabrication, assembly, operations, installation, repair and maintenance of general laboratory, experimental and commercial equipment; assists in set up and may conduct routine experiments and tests; records data.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assembles and installs simple laboratory equipment, experimental or commercial apparatus.
  • Operates lab and experimental equipment and collects data.
  • Cleans, adjusts and replaces parts on lab and experimental equipment.
  • Sets up and checks out routine experiments and tests according to pre-arranged procedures, records experimental data.
  • Capable of operating test equipment such as; digital multi-meters (DMMs), O-scopes, and power supplies.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions:
    • Help maintain work area in an orderly condition by returning tools, equipment and materials to storage areas.
    • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work with common hand tools.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate a good working knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials. Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearance is required.

Job Type: Full-Time Hourly

Salary range: 38,230 - 56,838
