Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Test Technician in Minneapolis to join our expanding operations team. You will perform routine and non-routine testing with supervision, ensuring timely and accurate results while following safety rules and company policies.

The position offers an hourly wage of $24-$35 depending on experience. Responsibilities include specimen prep, testing per specifications, data collection and calibration scheduling, with opportunities to grow within a global testing

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ testing experience.
• Basic understanding of testing concepts.
• Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry is a plus.

• Under supervision of a senior test technician and/or a Department Manager.
• Interacts periodically with customers.
• Schedules internal calibration of equipment.

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team.As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $24- $35/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Prepares material specimens for testing
• Performs tests as directed by customer specifications
• At times operates under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
• Interacts periodically with customers
• Schedules internal calibration of equipment
• Gathers and records test data
• Constructs and maintains various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervision

Skills / Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a testing related field
• Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
• Basic understanding of testing concepts
• Possess computer skills
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus

Physical Demands:

• Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)
• Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
