Job summary

ABSL Space Products, a division of EnerSys Advanced Systems, in Longmont, CO, seeks a Test Technician to support space battery programs. You will qualify cells, operate test equipment, disassemble and inspect cylindrical cells, and assist with assembly of battery packs per engineering instructions.

We value attention to detail, SOP compliance in aerospace settings, and the ability to work with engineers with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow SOPs in an aerospace environment.
• Executer work with high attention to detail.
• Aerospace or high-tech industry experience preferred.
• Works with engineers under minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries advantageous.
• Off hours or weekend support may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Engineers to qualify lithium-ion battery cells for space programs.
• Charge and discharge lithium ion battery cells and battery packs using test equipment.
• Disassembly and inspection of cylindrical battery cells per test instructions.
• Support a wide range of testing for new battery cell types per engineering instructions.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment following good laboratory practices.
• Assemble wire harnessing for various batteries and cell assemblies.

Compensation Range: $44,000 - $54,900
(Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.)

Qualifications

• Educational requirement: minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent).
• Ability to follow and execute standard operating procedures in an aerospace environment.
• Executes work with a high attention to detail.
• Aerospace or high tech industry experience preferred.
• Works well with fellow team members, under minimal supervision, and can take work direction from engineers as required.
• Knowledge of or experience with lithium-ion or other batteries advantageous.
• “Off” hours or weekend support may be required at times.
