PURPOSE:
  • The Clinical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring we meet the high standards for customer service. As the primary representative of our organization to clients, the Technician is expected to perform their duties with the utmost professionalism, accuracy, and adherence to established protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Specimen Collection: Accurately and timely collection of specimens in accordance with established procedures, including adherence to DOT guideline 49 CFR-Part 40. Responsible for completing the correct chain of custody form (CCF) and breath alcohol test (BAT) accurately. Ensure scanning of CCFs and BATs upon completion of an On-Site Collection. Log specimens promptly upon collection completion or upon arrival at the office, and place them in the appropriate lab container.
  • Training will be provided for all services provided, drug & alcohol testing, audiograms, fit testing, physical abilities testing, and basic vitals.
  • Transportation: Ensure the safe and timely transportation of staff, specimens, supplies, equipment, and materials to the designated destination. During on-site collections, verify the count of specimens and CCFs to ensure no paperwork or specimen is lost. Conduct another count upon arrival at the office when logging in the samples.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional, confident, and helpful demeanor at all times. Address any questions from donors and clients. If uncertain about forms or protocol, consult with a supervisor immediately.
  • Readiness and Responsiveness: Abstain from consuming alcoholic beverages at any time when there is a possibility of being dispatched for testing, including regular hours, on-call periods, or when serving as an alternate for on-call.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in specimen collection, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Other Requirements: Must be able to use a company vehicle when available and ensure it is properly maintained. Must keep a fully charged phone throughout the workday to be reachable during business and on-call hours.
